Prerequisites
What is the product?
Tell us about your product and what makes it unique—especially how it fits into the maker space. We’re specifically looking for tools and tech that makers love, like laser engravers, 3D printers, CNC machines, computers, hardware, and accessories. Make sure your product stands out and is relevant to hands-on creators.
Collaboration Scope?
Most collaborations involve providing a product in exchange for one long-form video, typically 6–8 minutes or longer. Depending on the product and fit, additional content or extended coverage may also be considered.
Compensation?
Compensation is typically covered by the donation of the product, which I retain after fulfilling our agreement. Some products may be used in future content, while others might be donated or sold to help support the channel. If available, affiliate links are also appreciated to track and support any sales generated through the coverage.
Are you human or AI?
If you’re an AI marketing agency—like Head, Aha, or similar—your request will likely be ignored. I prioritize genuine, human-to-human collaborations that align with the maker community.
Can I review content before it goes live?
Yes—content may be shared prior to release to address any factual inaccuracies or important omissions. However, all opinions expressed are entirely my own. The review will always reflect honest, straightforward feedback and is not subject to censorship or editorial control by collaborators.
When can I expect coverage to go live?
Content is typically published 6–8 weeks after receiving the product to allow proper time for testing, filming, and editing. I work through a set backlog and do not shift priorities, as fairness to all collaborators is important. If unexpected delays arise, I’ll communicate clearly and work with you to adjust timelines as needed.
Product Review Requirements
1. Is it new to market?
To be considered for a stand-alone YouTube review, the product should be relatively new to the market. If it’s already been heavily covered on YouTube, a full review likely won’t offer much value to my audience—or to you as a collaboration partner.
3. Does it have an industry-first feature?
I aim to highlight products that bring something new to the table—not just another rebranded version of what’s already out there. My audience values innovation and so do I. If your product includes an industry-first or standout feature, be sure to clearly explain what sets it apart—because if I’m bored reviewing it, they’ll be bored watching it.
2. Is it SAFE?
Safety is a top priority. I only review products that meet reasonable safety standards—like Class 1 laser ratings, fully enclosed CNC machines, or other protections suited for beginners and home use. If a product seems unsafe or inappropriate for the maker community, I won’t feature it.
4. Will it be on the market in the next 3 months?
I understand platforms like Kickstarter are used to gauge interest, but for a review to be worthwhile, the product should be fully funded and close to launch—ideally within the next 3 months. Reviewing something too far from release risks losing audience interest and promoting something that may never materialize. My viewers expect real, tangible products—not vaporware.
